I played this song for about 10 minutes, it annoyed the crap out of me, my friends, and other people. It did not annoy my parents or other old[er] people…like my grandmother, aunt or friend’s father.

Feb 20th, 2007 at 1:22 am
My wife and I are both 37. We can hear this sound. Like a Television when you first turn it on. The dog seemed to pay no attention at all.
Feb 23rd, 2007 at 2:28 am

it (and it hurts the ears). I can’t hear a thing. I am 42. This would be a fun time to have in my car to annoy my kids and their friends!

Apr 7th, 2007 at 5:45 am
They never said it would bother dogs, just that they could hear it.
Hum. Did your dog freak out? Probably not, but he/she probably heard you hum. Unless your dog can say “no” when you ask “did you just hear that tone?!” I’d say we have no clue if your dogs heard it or not.
Apr 18th, 2007 at 1:43 am

Jun 7th, 2007 at 12:01 am
I am 43 and I could hear it after I turned up the volume. It was painfully high-pitched. My mother, who is 73, could not hear it. Wow, I feel like a teenager again!
Jun 17th, 2007 at 5:26 pm
I’m 17, and my sister is 11. We both hear it. I’ve heard a very similar noise coming from my tv, and my parents don’t believe me. They don’t hear this either. They think I’m nuts!
Jun 21st, 2007 at 5:30 pm
I’m 43, I can “feel” it…there’s a VERY high pitched whining noise and I’m wondering if that’s part of it. There’s more of a pressure feeling behind my ears when I play it.
my 12yr old is on the other side of the room and as soon as I hit “play” she asked me what the heck is that noise??
LOL
Gonna have to try and one on my 15 yr old when she gets home and see who else we can test it on.
very cool =)
Jun 21st, 2007 at 7:09 pm
I know this will sound odd, but did anyone ‘feel’ it like in the back of your jaw and ears? I definitely heard it and my dog did as well, he kind of looked up like wtf?!
Jun 21st, 2007 at 7:32 pm
Oh god, it feels like the back of my skull was on fire…I have a really bad headache now. D= My mom was on a site with a bunch of these sounds, and I could hear more of them than she could…
Jun 21st, 2007 at 9:01 pm
I’m 28 and I can hear it. They play a sound like that at a local takeaway door to stop teenagers hanging around outside.
Jun 21st, 2007 at 9:44 pm
I’m 17 and I can’t hear it? O_o
Jun 22nd, 2007 at 12:58 am
I’m 41 and can hear it just fine. It’s an annoying high pitch sound. I’m sure I would have found it annoying when I was a teenager as well.
Jun 22nd, 2007 at 1:02 am
I am 38 and didn’t hear a thing. My wife is 24 and the moment it started playing she looked over and said: “Turn that thing off! That is so annoying.”
Jun 22nd, 2007 at 1:21 am

Aug 9th, 2007 at 2:56 am
YO! Im 25, female and that sound pierces my ears! OUCCCCHH! If you want to torture a POW or interrogate someone, this sound will make them confess anything!
Aug 9th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
this sound is quite high but i’ve heard higher pitches than this go on youtube and type in hearing test i can hear all of them. I’m 13 and i am used to these types of pitches and sounds because our house has a LOT of electrics on ALL the while and i am used to them, they used to give me huge headaches but they are just part of my everyday life. those who say they can’t hear it but want to its like an extremely annoying sound like someone who has little of their voice left trying to sing or scream with a very dry throat, trust me you aren’t missing anything special
Aug 12th, 2007 at 12:11 am
I can hear it like a person screaming at my ears! It’s so annoying! I’m 14 btw.
Aug 18th, 2007 at 2:52 pm

Aug 19th, 2007 at 10:51 am
My dog went all sad and slinked away my ears hurt like mad
Aug 19th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
im 15, and i can hear it, my 16 year old sister can hear it, but my 48 year old mom can’t, even at full volume. for those of you that can’t hear it, but want to, it sounds like shellshock, like at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, when Tom Hanks is on the beach with his helmet off…
Aug 24th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
I don’t think it has anything to do with age…its more of something to do with how well you take care of your ears.I’m 18 and I hear it perfectly(you’re not missing much). Like someone else said,it sounds like that sound the television makes if you leave it on.
Aug 26th, 2007 at 5:23 am

I’m 16 - me and my year younger sister can hear it. My mom says she can’t hear it. (Argh, I’ve got a headache now.) My cat doesn’t mind it, if he can hear it.
It -does- sound like the noise you get when a television is on… but no one I know seems to be able to hear that.

Oct 28th, 2007 at 5:17 am
I am 29 and could hear it fine, its very loud and annoying to. I also agree with the tv comments. i am the only one in the house that can tell when a tv is on anywhere in the house. They think i am nuts. Will try this on family in the morning.
Oct 30th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
Me (15), my brother (12), and my dad (41) could hear it but my mom(41) couldn’t. This kid at my school had it on his phone and the teacher could not hear it. cool!!!!

I am 42 and can hear it. It’s interesting, since I honestly believe I have hearing loss. My one year old cat looked around the first few times I played it. My 11 year old cat did the slow blink the first couple times I played it, then he lost interest.

Oh good heavens. I’m 17 and my sister is 13. We tried to test our parents (both 44) to see if they really can’t hear it. On the request of my sister, I put the speakers up really loud. Smart move that was. It had me and my sister cry out loud cause it scared the hell out of us and was so loud. (Oh my gawd! It was so damn painful too.) My parents were completely in shock cause they couldn’t hear it at all. (They were also laughing at our pain…….) But none of my dogs seem to be affected at all.
Jan 2nd, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I heard it loud and clear, and I’m 46 - felt like a dentist drilling into my ears. Husband didn’t hear anything at all, though, neither did my 14-yr old dalmatian
Jan 3rd, 2008 at 4:32 am
i could hear it perfectly, but when i showed it to my mom (43) she thought i was playing a trick on her. when i showed it to my dad (51) he claimed he heard it for a second, but other than that, no.

I’m 30 and didn’t hear a thing. I had the volume turned down kind of low at first but then replayed it with the volume all the way up and still heard absolutely nothing. My dog’s asleep on the floor and she didn’t move a muscle. Very interesting though, I’m going to have my husband try it later.
Jan 10th, 2008 at 7:49 am

Feb 11th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
I’m 25 I CAN hear it, one of my co-workers is 48 and she can hear it, another of my co-workers is 38 and he could hear it. Then we have co-workers ages 56, 49, 48, 35 and 52 that all think we are making it up and can’t hear anything!
Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
I’m 45, daughter 5. We both hear it. Doesn’t phase the dog and the birds just cock their heads. 2 goldfish started floating, a mouse ran into the power panel and blew 3 breakers, (it died), and coincidently 2 light bulbs in my ceiling fan went out. Can’t figure this one out.
Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
played it for 5 minutes and my Mom is 65 and she swears she can’t hear this sound, but I could. Let My Uncle hear it, who’s 57 and he couldn’t hear it either. This is weird!
Feb 20th, 2008 at 5:03 am
I am 16 and I can hear it. My 11 year old brother heard it as well and it annoyed the heck out of both of us. My mom, 44, didn’t hear it at first until I turned up the volume slightly but it didn’t seem to bug her as much as it did to my brother and I. My dad, 44 as well, could not hear it at all.
Feb 20th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I’m 44 and did not hear it but a coworker can hear it even with head phones on he is 20
Feb 26th, 2008 at 7:55 am
44. So disappointed that I couldn’t hear it. I tried really hard. I can hear the tv noise at night still, but this one doesn’t reveal itself.
I’m curious how many people are using headphones and also what software they’re playing it on. I was using speakers, and Windows Media Player. Also I’m using a PC that makes alot of noise rather than a laptop.
Feb 26th, 2008 at 7:59 am
I just tried playing the tone with RealPlayer and I heard it very clearly.
So it might not be just an age thing, but software also makes a difference.
Mar 1st, 2008 at 5:54 pm
I couldnt hear it when my grandson showed me\
Mar 3rd, 2008 at 12:04 am
I am 32. I cant hear it. I cranked it up and the kids could hear it on the other side of the house. Still nothing.

Mar 16th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
I just turned 50 and I heard it LOUD AND CLEAR!!! It was painful! In fact, I didn’t have my headphones on and I heard it from across the room. I don’t think it has anything to do with age …
Mar 20th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
i heard it real well!! i even started to get a headache! my dog heard it too but he didn’t seem to mind…. his ears perked up but then he went back to relaxing. i think it just has to do with how good your hearing is… like if your 45 but have great hering then you cn still hear it. i was bored so i felt like leaving a comment even though i dont usually do this kinda stuff.. ohh yeahh todys my birthdayy!! woohoo!! yeahh ou all ust think im a weirdo b now but i dont care…. soo yeahh now this is getting boring so im just gonna go….. l8tr peepss!

Apr 23rd, 2008 at 11:44 pm
I’m 43 and can hear it perfectly.
Apr 24th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
I’m 25 years old, and could barely hear this. I was, however, listening to it on laptop speakers on a very noisy terrace on Bleeker Street in New York, so it could just be that I’m hearing too many other sounds that are drowning this out. Or it could be that years of choral singing, and several months of living in a very noisy city have dulled my hearing. Yikes! I didn’t expect to have hearing loss at 25.
Apr 24th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
Apr 25th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
I can hear it I’m 30. My parents could not hear it even when turned up full. My Dog also hears it.
Apr 26th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
I’m 23 and I could hear it. I’ve heard higher pitched things than that, too. That actually wasn’t as high-pitched as I was expecting. Those mosquito-repelling devices are higher-pitched.
Apr 30th, 2008 at 1:52 am
I’m 15 and I can hear the sound!
I played it for my brothers, and they could hear it!
my parents couldn’t though, so i kept playing it to tease them!
May 1st, 2008 at 10:04 pm
I’m the big 4-0 and I sure as hell hear that annoying sound. Thats pretty good for my age and 4 years of working inside of airplanes too! I cant wait till my friends kids come over and i bug them with it!
May 26th, 2008 at 5:12 am
Im 14 and deaf, and i cant hear it(probly cause im deaf), but it annoys the shit out of my mom/sister/bro/dog. Havent tested my dad.

he’s like 42 years old and he could still hear it…
i was fuken playing this sound, i thought my dad couldn’t hear it… but after like 2 mins… he got up from his chair and bitch slap me
Jun 16th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
I played this sound in a room with four adults all over 50. Two immediatly complained about the high pitched buzzing and the other two did not hear anything. I believe it depends upon how well you’ve managed your hearing over the years and not just the years.
Jun 22nd, 2008 at 10:35 pm
I guess I’m in the minority of adults that can hear this, I’m 38. The sound is annoying but tolerable, although I only listened for a few seconds. It seems to spike initially, then settle into a single tone. I wouldn’t call it buzzing, as this would imply pikes and valleys in the tone.
Jun 26th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
I am 29 and i can not hear it.
My wife is 28 and she says it is a loud high pitch buzz.
My 3 year old cairn terrier ran away when it was played.
My 8 year old cat didnt look up.
My 9 year old dog didnt look up.
Jul 13th, 2008 at 6:04 pm

Jul 22nd, 2008 at 11:51 pm
Jul 23rd, 2008 at 3:03 pm
im 37, I hear it. I also have had noticable loss and ringing in my right ear for 18 years yet I can hear it thru that ear also. I listen to my car stereo waay to loud too.
go figure. I am usually the one in my house that can hear tiny noises that everyone else cant, I will get up when the tv is on, and wander around the house cocking my head. I get asked what im doing and I say that i hear something, I get told im crazy. yet 5 minutes or so later I will circle in on the sound and it will be something like the smoke alarm that has such a dead battery that all it would do was click every minute. so dead that the chirp was gone.
Jul 25th, 2008 at 4:52 am
im 39 and i can hear it my
hurts ears
Aug 4th, 2008 at 2:07 pm

its really annoying.
but my mom couldnt hear it.
and my dog didnt seem to notice it at all.
Aug 20th, 2008 at 7:15 am
I’m 34 and could hear *something*. It was just a high-pitched sound though - so not sure if it’s what I was supposed to hear or just a speaker/recording issue. I’m just not sure, since I couldn’t hear it in the msnbc report but could hear this without trouble. It’s like the sound the old fashioned TV screens used to make. always drove me crazy!
Sep 1st, 2008 at 6:46 am
I can hear it, it gave me a bona
Sep 7th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
I could just about hear it - but when played thru Winamp and the graphic set up flat apart from the 14KHz fader at full its plain as day - unless this is a harmonic of the original frequency? Does anyone know what frequency its supposed to be? Would love to annoy the shit out of the local hoodies who blare out shite tunes from their mobiles on public transport. Maybe buses should fit speakers for such occasions
Sep 11th, 2008 at 4:27 am
OMG!!! I’m 16 and if you turn this thing up louder and louder it sounds different hurt my ears!!!
Sep 17th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
well, I am 27 and my husband is 39 and we can both hear it so I guess they are wrong when they say only dogs and teenagers can hear it.
Sep 20th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
im 13, i heard it, (and i have hardly any hearing in my right ear btw) and it kinda annoyed me but i could live with it.

Sep 23rd, 2008 at 10:08 pm
I played this sound for myself a couple times, then sent it to some of my friends. All of them are 12 or 13 years old, like me, and all of the 7 I sent it to could hear it. I played it for my mom today (she’s 50). She said she couldn’t hear it, but my 17 year old brother heard it from across the house. (btw, I got a headache after hearing it more than 4 times)
Sep 27th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
45 years old. I did hear it, unfortunately!
Oct 3rd, 2008 at 7:53 pm
I’m only 14 and I can’t hear a thing. My friend was playing this in the computer lab at school and everyone (including the teacher who is young) was like GOD TURN THAT OFF!! And I was like I can’t hear a thing. They were all like What?
Oct 4th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

Oct 8th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
i am 18 and i cannot hear anything
Oct 9th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
I’m really happy to see that quite a few adults can still hear this. As annoying as it is, I never want to lose these upper frequencies in my hearing. (I would guess this is only about 16 or 17k. Human hearing is “supposed” to extend to 20k, but there’s arguments for recording at ranges that extend beyond this.)
I feel sorry for the kids who can’t hear this. They are already losing their hearing.
Oct 11th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
for those who think think there is not a sound being played: there is. iam 14 and I can here it, but my parents can’t, so i play it to bug my brother and my parents don’t even know/care
Oct 11th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
lol! I tried it on my mom and dad (45) and they looked at me like I was crazy.
But my brother (16) and I (12) can hear it very well. xD
Oct 12th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
I am 42 and can hear the sound with no problem.

Nov 11th, 2008 at 12:55 am
I’m 45, I hear a buzz… like maybe a mosquito or something.
which seems odd, because I sometimes have trouble making out exactly what people are saying.
Nov 11th, 2008 at 2:27 am
EEWWWW
I’m 36
I heard it (bad bad sound)
Nov 11th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
I turned 40 this year. I heard the noise — a high pitched sort of electronic noise. Very annoying, lol! I had my hearing tested a few years ago, and it was excellent — the exact comment was “Your hearing could not be any better”.
Nov 15th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
Nov 19th, 2008 at 2:24 am
I am 47 and could not hear it. My son is 19 and he could hear it and would tell me when I turned it off or on. It freaked me out since I couldn’t hear it. He has the sound on his phone and I could faintly hear it on there.

Jan 1st, 2009 at 10:34 am
I am 59 and could just about make out a faint noise. A bit like an extremely high pitched scream. Although it was so faint I doubt whether I would pick up on it without knowing it was there.
Jan 2nd, 2009 at 5:33 pm
I played this sound first alone [im seventeen almost 18] then called my 9 year old sister to hear it and she did, then we called our mom to hear it and she didnt [shes 44]. but i just played it again to record on my phone [which doesnt work] and my sister was in the kitchen, which is probably about 100-150ft away and she heard it as if she were in the room, and yelled at me lol. great way to anoy her now when she anoys me. =] and like the rest dog didnt care.
Jan 2nd, 2009 at 5:37 pm
Oh wait our dog is gettin up lookin around now, her ears are lower then normal like its really bugging her. and my sister is in the kitchen playing this noise and i can hear it, its a little quiet tho.
Jan 5th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Someone in my math class has this as their texting ring tone, and it annoys the hell out of everyone but the teacher, who is oblivious and just keeps writing on the board. It’s funny.
I’m 17, i hear it. I just played this to my mom (mid 40s) and she couldnt hear it and thought i was just messing with her, so we called my 11 year old sister and 19 year old brother over and they both heard it too. She believes me now =]
Jan 6th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Hear what??
I’m 59
Jan 6th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

Jan 7th, 2009 at 1:12 am
I’m 25, I heard it but didn’t find it particularly annoying.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:35 am
I am 34 and ouch. Instant headache. Interesting.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:36 am
I’m almost 28 and I heard it. Wow that hurts. I’m not sure how my dog would take it she’s not in the room with me right now.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:38 am
That hurt, really bad. I am eighteen and ouch, felt like someone was stabbing me in the ears and twisting.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:38 am
My dad is 57 and I’m 22. We both heard it. Ow. x.o
Then again, it’s like a quiet feedback sound, and my dad sets up electronics all day at a college, so he’s used to listening for sounds like that.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:47 am
Holy god OW. That noise is absolutely agonizing! I am 23 and can hear it VERY clearly. That sound is why I can’t use a non LCD television, it gives me migraines.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:49 am
Played it..and had to turn it off because it hurt! Gah, that was a horrible sound D: My dog didn’t react though, she never even looked up xD Horray, my 15 year old ears still work!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:53 am
I could hear and feel it behind my ears too, like a pressure in my head.My husband said it reminded him of really bad ringing in the ears.My 2 year old cat even heard it!I don’t know if my kitten did because she wasn’t in sight,I’m curious if she did though.I’m 31 and my husband is 38.I’ll have to try it on my kids next, lol.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:59 am
i’m 21 and i hear it X3
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:01 am
I’m 18 and I heard it. My dog woke up from a dead sleep and jumped about 20 feet in the air and my basset hound sleeping down the hall jumped up and looked around like he had saw a ghost.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:14 am
I am 26, and both me and all 3 dogs heard the obnoxious note.:) It did not drive them crazy, they just cocked their heads, and twitched their ears. It sounds like a rodent repellent noise I have heard before. I have very sensitive ears.
Hope this helps.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:15 am
O.e my mom couldn’t hear it and i had the volume at max.
also.. my cats noticed it and like all stared at the computer…
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:31 am
I’m 16 and heard it, but I didn’t find it that annoying. It’s the sound TV does when it’s turned on.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:35 am
47 here and I did hear it… so did my 17 year old daughter.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:55 am

Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:05 am

Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:34 am
gah that hurts the ears >>
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:38 am
I’m 39, and can “feel” it more than hear it. It gives me an awful headache! Hubbie is 38 and can’t hear/”feel” anything (but it must have been getting to him somehow because he started getting annoyed).
I’d figure I was crazy but the kids all hear it and we’ve been testing each other with it. After a while, the “feel” started translating into sound and it sounded like when my parents would turn on the TV without sound when I was a kid… high pitched and annoying. Kids say it’s very loud and hurts their ears.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:39 am
What a nasty, nasty sound. I’m twenty-seven and have hearing loss, but I heard that awful sound just fine… unfortunately!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:41 am
I’m 18 and I can hear it–makes me quite dizzy, actually. My mom’s 55 and can’t hear it. My doberman just looks at me funny and then goes back to sleep, and my other dog and my cat completely ignore it.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:44 am
im 48 year old female and i can hear it!!! every annoying sound It hurts my ears !!!
and has left me with a headache
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:53 am
Wow, that really hurt to hear.. I’m 15 years old.. I will see if my mom maybe can hear it (she’s half deaf and 55 years old
)
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:44 am
I’m 25 I can hear this beyond annoying high shrill noise it rings in my ears why the hell would some one want this as a ring tone *rubs ears* I tried it on the whole family also. My 6 month old stared at the computer screen and got really unsettled, My 1 yr old was confused and looking for the noise , my 2 year old just looked at the computer screen, And my 46 yr old partner could hear nothing at all so i guess it really does work…wow good way to annoy people who can hear it =P
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:47 am
53 and can’t hear it. It was designed to keep youngsters away from hanging around in areas, like outside certain shopping areas. That’s why it’s not comfortable. It was played on a loud speaker system. I’m not sure it’s still used, it kicked up quite a fuss.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:08 am
I’m 25 and I heard it the second time after I cranked my volume on max.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:31 am
I’m 52 years old and didn’t hear it, so I played it while my 4 month old puppy was near by…she didn’t react at all to it. No clue if she heard it or not.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:33 am
I am in my mid 30s and I heard it just fine. Annoying as Heck, gave me a headache. My dag perked up her ears and was looking around trying to find it LOL
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:35 am
My parents hate it that I can hear it and they can’t. I’m only 22 so I’m not too surprised that I can hear it.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:30 am
That was cool my mom is 48 and heard it
Well anyway my dog howled and cat heard it to
I had to put them in seporit rooms
Jan 7th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
Ahhh! Loud and painful!
14 years old….it freaked me out. I think my cat Emma can hear it because she just sat there twitching her head to the left and right when it was playing and then ran away, thats really strange for her.

Jan 7th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
well im 12 and i heard it. i dont really know what to say for my mom because she was in the other room, but i didnt hear LISA WHAT IS THAT NOISE!!!! so i dont think she heard it. my dog was right next to me and she just sat there, eating her bone. usually, if shes scared, she runs away.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
I’m 21 and can hear it
Jan 7th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
It seems that the sound is just a high pitched buzzing like when you first turn on a tv. I’m 22 years old. Maybe the sound doesn’t effect older ages (to a certain degree) because those people are so used to hearing electricity that they don’t hear it anymore. Or their ears aren’t as sensitive.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
I’m 13. I played it and my ears nearly died, but Mom and her friend didn’t notice it at all.
It’s actually pretty amusing as a phone ring. Annoying, but amusing. ^^
Jan 7th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
it wont play
so i dont know if it i can hear it or not.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Like most people said, it’s the TV noise! I’m 17 and it killed my ears.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
I heard it Just fine! I am a teenager!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
Im 25 and I can hear it. It wasn’t obvious as a aound, but it instantly gave me a headache and now Im developing earache. XD I didn’t even leave it on very long.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Ì`m 14, and I can hear it pretty well. So can my brother, which is 12 years old. I called my grandma to see if she could hear it, and she sais she didn`t hear anything.
I had one of my dogs in my lap when I played the video, and she didn`t seem to even twitch an ear to hear the sound better. Neither did the other 2 dogs I have. Maybe the sound is so high pitched that the dog`s mind can`t actually register it?
Jan 7th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
I’m 27 years old and played the noise in a room with 2 dogs.
The dogs were sleeping and didn’t so much as twitch.
I, however, heard a horrible high pitched squealing noise that acctually blurred my eyes and created a blinding pain.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 3:07 pm
I know I can hear it its my ringtone but I tested it on my sisters dog his head [perked up when i played it. And to answer your question cause if adults can’t hear it then we can’t get in trouble for using our cellphones
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Yes, i can hear it and its ANNOYING! my dongs didnt bother, and their 4 and 11 years old.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
i’m 15, and i can hear it, but my mom (53)can’t. i turned up my volume all the way to see of she could hear it, and now i have a funny kind of headache.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
18 and it sounds more like F natural to me.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
Threw my headset across the room my ears felt like bleeding… 28 year old and that hurt
Jan 7th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
AAHH! i can hear it perfectly but my mom cant hear a thing!
It agrivates me that she cannot hear this.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Im 17 and my sister is 23 and we can hear it, but my mom cant hear it she’s 46.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
Yeck, it reminds me of those hearing tests I had to go through in highschool. o.o Didn’t bother the three dogs though.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
oh wow.
I’m 14 and I can hear it just fine, but when I played it my dogs started freaking out and stuff. xD
I’ll have to ask my dad to listen because he’s 42.
This is pretty weird lol
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:47 pm
I am 35 and I winced when I heard this. It was very annoying and I had to shut it off right away.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
I heard it. I’m 11. I have a really bad headache. It sounds like when my TV acts weird. The first time I played it my dog barked, but the rest of the times he stared at me like “Wtf?”
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
I’m 26 and I could hear it all to well. My daughter who is three could hear it and she actually seemed to enjoy the noise. It did nothing for my daughters kitten, but every time I replayed it my kitten went nuts. Rubbing his head on the ground and running into things. So I don’t know for sure if either really was hearing it but it sure seemed like my kitten was.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
I’m 14, I heard it. My ears hurt.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:05 pm
I’m 18 and I can hear it but it’s pretty faint. And I consider myself to have kind of soft hearing because whenever I put on headphone it’s usually at such a low volume other people have to turn it up when I ask them to listen to something then I have to turn the volume down again once I get the earphones back.
My cat, about a year and a half old, heard it too but thought it was coming from outside the window. xD Not sure if my other cat, 5 years old, can hear it or not.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
18.
Can’t hear it ,
but also have a perforated right ear drum,
still should be able to hear it in my other ear though, correct?
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:16 pm
I can hear it loud and clear, age 16. Gosh, that’s obnoxious. xD
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
Okay fuck that noise! It hurts my brain. -shot-
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Ouch. Me (kell) and my twin brother listened to it and could hear it perfectly well (we are 14). In fact, twin got curious about how it would sound at a higher volume. We now both have terrible headaches.
I’m going to test it on my parents later to see if they can hear it…
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
It’s not only because of age people. The frequency of hearing doesn’t decline that much when you age it has to do with how you treat your ears. We are all born hearing a certain high pitched frequency what it is I can’t remember but teenager who listens to music too loud, people who work in factories and other places where there is a lot of noise, damage their ear drums and as your ears become damaged so does the ability to hear the frequencys of higher pitch. = )
Thank physics XDD
Jan 7th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
Hello. I am thirteen. I heard it fine on the lowest volume, and also the loudest volume. Even the loudest volume didn’t hurt, by my nineteen year old sister came screaming out of her room when I turned it on. I also had my fifty one year old mom come over to look at my screen, and she commented that my speakers were making a horrible shrieking noise…A few years ago, she could not hear it. One of her speculations is that she had got menierz disease or something. Her hearing was bad. It might have done something in her ear to allow her to hear it…
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Ahaha. I heard it. It kind of reminds me when I used to get my hearing checked and they played a sound in your ear and you had to say which ear you could hear it in.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Oh god that hurts my ears D: I’d cry if I had to listen to that all the time. I’ll try this on my parents when they get home, they’re both in their forties.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
I’m 35 years old and can hear it.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
i’m 23 and i can hear it, my mo could hear it when i turned it up. (she’s 60ish)
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Both myself (19), sister (16), cousins (15 and 21) could hear the noise…even if though the volume was almost muted. Grandparents (63 and 65), parents (44 and 45) and aunt (40) did not hear it. Cats (both 7) and cockatiel (3) heard it and did not like it.
Very neat and a cool experiment!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Oww….It hurts D:
I’m about to turn 16, by the way. *covers ears*
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Me and my brother can hear it. My brother could hear it from the living room. My mom was laying on the bed though and she couldn’t.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
I’m 13, I can hear this, and it’s really annoying!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
I heard it, and I’m 14. Not particularly annoying - like many have said, it’s like the noise of a TV without any channel turned on. It’s scratchy and sounds different when quiet than loud (it’s pitched lower).
Jan 7th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I played this and myself and my younger brother could both hear it (we are 16 and 12). My mom couldn’t hear it though; she is 36.
I have heard about this before though, and from experience and reading different research, the average “cut-off” age is around 25, so mid-twenties. Anyone older than that typically can’t hear it.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
14 here. I can hear it. My Moms like 49 and she can hear it, she even was like “Thats really annoying, kinda painful even.” And I agree with her, that and more.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
This is a horribly awful noise and is pretty much like what I hear faintly all the time with my tinnitus. Playing it twice through, my ears pretty much hate me right now as it just sent my tinnitus into a tumult.
I own no dogs, but my two cats glared at the direction of the computer and the speakers, but in no other way responded so I would guess it to be a mild irritant.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
im a ten year old and this annoyed the hell out of me
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
I’m 19. I heared it, and my dog started barking… I’ll play it for my mom later.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
Cats can hear it as well!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
o_O I’m 14. Turn 15 in early March. XD I only hear this tiny little ring. Doesn’t hurt at all. It’s softer than Skype alert sounds. o-o No headache.. I do feel my ears ring for only a second or two, but nup. No pain.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Did not hear a sound…my 13 yr old said he hears it…but I heard nothing. He said it sounds like when you turn on a tv as well…I used to hear that when a tv was turned on, too, but come to think of it, have not heard it for a LONG time.
So what is the reason for some hearing it and some not hearing it?
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
oops…I’m a month away from 46
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
I’m 15 and I was in soo much pain listening to that!
I have really sensitive hearing, so that made it worse.
My dog is not in the basement, so I don’t know
how she’d react.
I hate it when people leave tv’s on and I hate leaving
my phone cord in the outlet because of the noise they
make. :[
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
omg my friend played it at school but i couldn’t hear it now when i played it at home it works and i am 14 so it’s really cool is it suspose to be like really really loud of just like medium??
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
AAAHHH! It sounds like a difference tone!!! D: *hate*
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
wow…now you can tell when you get old…
I can hear it, but my mom can’t!
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
I heard it (I’m 16.) I played it to the youngest of my dogs, and she heard it, but didn’t really get annoyed.
Jan 7th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
I’m 15, almost 16, and I could clearly hear it, though I didn’t find it annoying.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:01 am
I’m 15, almost 16, and I could clearly hear it, though I didn’t find it annoying. My brother is 13 about, and he could hear it.
My mother, who’s 45, could also hear it “Right away” She said
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:10 am
Wow… that was wierd. I heard it, my mom didnt…
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:15 am
It was more pain and less sound for me. 22 here.
I had someone else play it while I was away from the computer, didn’t really hear it, but the pain was there.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:20 am
i’m 15. didn’t hear a sound.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:26 am
I used to not be able to hear this sound when I was a child, but around 14 years of age I finally was able to notice it, now it’s so annoying.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:29 am
I played this and it blew my ears! My dad was like… Whats bothering you?? and I’m like can’t you hear it and dads like nope!
Jan 8th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Dammit that hurts my ears! My dog kept tilting her head, lmao.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 1:19 am
I could hear it and I’m 13 years old. my 10-yr-old sister and 5-yr-old brother could hear it. My mom could barely hear it, and my dad couldn’t at all. It’s kind of funny.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 1:23 am
I’m 35 and I can hear it very cleary
Extremely annoying. It’s funny because I can remember when I was a kid telling my parents about the whiny noise the TV was making, and they kept insisting that I was imagining things XP
Jan 8th, 2009 at 1:28 am
I’m 13, and heard it. Clearly. Ouch, now my ears hurt xD That was too loud! My 34 year old mum can hear it, but not my 35 year old dad. Strange.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 2:20 am
Me (18), my cat, and my brother (14) could hear it painfully well. My Mom (49), however, could not hear it the first time around but then when I played it a second time and turned up the volume a little she could hear it.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 3:19 am

Jan 8th, 2009 at 3:23 am
Ahhhh, I’m 13 and it annoyed me so much. My 5 year old Jack Russell was sleeping next to me and didnt even move though. Roar. That would be awesome to have as a ringtone though. lol. i should record it.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 3:46 am
Yes! I finally found the exact sound that you hear when it is really silent at night when you lay in bed and try to listen to the silence. I’m hearing it now too, but it’s lower pitched. I also hear it sometimes when I do something with my neck but its more annoying than this sound. I’m 12, but I have been hearing that weird noise ever since I was really little.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 4:18 am
That was cool. Im 15 and could hear it fine (gave me a headache) My mom couldnt hear it at all
Jan 8th, 2009 at 5:16 am
yiipe yeah I can hear it.. ow.. *hates the sound and rubs my ears and exits the page*
I has oober sensitive ears.. and there’s even stuff going on elsewhere XD
Jan 8th, 2009 at 6:32 am
Yea Ghads what a anoying noise like nails on a chalkboard. BTW I’m 33
Jan 8th, 2009 at 7:52 am
I heard it. Ugh! DX
Jan 8th, 2009 at 8:57 am
I am 63, and I not only can hear this, but it’s annoying as well. I don’t have to have the volume turned up to hear it and it’s really painful if I do turn it up, but I do admit that I have always had very good hearing. My 58 year old husband can hear it as well, and said “ouch!” almost as soon as I started playing it. My terriers can also hear it, but not so much the cats.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
I’m 15, heard it.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Oi. 24, and I definitely heard, and felt it. I thought my larynx was going to explode out of my throat. Not sure why a noise affected other bits like that, but it kinda hurt. And yes, I know exactly what you mean by the TV noise, although it’s more noticeable with older sets than new ones.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
I am 48 and I can hear the hum…like I tell everyone, I like my music loud, not because I’m hard of hearing…
Jan 8th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
LoL That’s the same noise that I hear whenever the TV is on but is not on a channel. It drives me nuts! DX I’m 14 and I can hear it loud and clear. My little sister (age 12) can hear it and so can my 10-year-old brother.. My mom (43) doesn’t seem to hear a thing tho, and she thinks we’re playing a joke on her about the high-pitched sound. XD My dog sat there a looked worried, but other than that he wasn’t bothered. It doesn’t bother cats either.
Jan 8th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
I could hear it, I’m 33
Jan 8th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
*shivers* well i heard it. i’m 13. my CAT ABSOLUTELY HATES its. i started playing it and he stuck his head up and down it was hilarious. he ran after the middle part….
Jan 8th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
OWWWWW… that hurt!!! I’m fourteen and I could hear it very well… that is worse than a dog whistle 0.o it bothered my cat for some reason he is 8 months old
Jan 9th, 2009 at 4:56 am
My dad who’s in his late 50s can hear this.
Jan 9th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I am 14 years. Can hear a loud screech. Dog went mad
after hearing it.
Jan 9th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
D= I’m seventeen years old. I played it on its lowest volume, only one click up on my computer, and it hurt my ears so much I threw my headphones. XD That’s just GOD AWFUL. :\ And it was very startling. I really didn’t expect to hear anything, but damn…
XD Lucky my headphones were plugged in; they only landed in my lap instead of on the floor.
Jan 9th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
I am sixteen and for me, the sound was very clear. I am wearing headphones (don’t have speakers), but I did take off the headphones and turn it up as high as I could, which is loud enough to hear.
My oldest dog, a thirteen year old Australian Shepherd, immediately perked up and started looking around. My other dog, a 4 year old miniature schnauzer, did not respond.
Jan 10th, 2009 at 12:21 am
I tested this on my dad, he’s fifty and he couldn’t hear it.
Jan 10th, 2009 at 4:15 am
dude,im 12 and i heard it and OUCH did it hurt! when i get my cat, i’ll have him listen. hopefully it wont hurt him…..
Jan 10th, 2009 at 6:28 am
Lol my mom thought I was lieing, my brother had to plug his ears (he’s 7), mom is in her thirties, and step dad is 42 and he heard it. Dog didn’t seem to give a single care. 5 minutes later, it is STILL ringing in my ears and I don’t even have it on anymore XD
Jan 10th, 2009 at 11:24 am
I’m 40 and coould hear it even on a low volume, the dh is 44 and the noise really hurts his ears. The dogs HATE it
Jan 10th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
I remember my senior year in high school someone had this on their iPod. They would keep changing the volume on it and only I and a few other people could hear it (including my teacher at the time). For a while I thought I was hearing things until someone across the room started screaming.
I hate that noise. >__<
Jan 11th, 2009 at 12:53 am
im 23…I hear a buzzing sound and a kind of low pitched schreetching sound. My dog and cat hear it but it doesnt really bother them
Jan 11th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
*rubs ears* I’m thirteen, and I think I just broke my ear drum. *cries* I can definately hear it. D:
Jan 11th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
I’m thirty and yes I heard this. It sounds like a frequency squeal from a cb radio or when you turn on the TV. It’s quite unpleasant actually.
Jan 12th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
I’m 18 and I can’t hear it for the life of me :C ! I’m sort of deaf tho. I’ll keep it on at full blast and see if my siblings hear it.
Jan 12th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
I’m 40, and I can hear it. It is definitely annoying, so if you’re not hearing it, don’t worry!!
Jan 12th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
i am 13 and i could hear it
my cats could hear it to
but sadly my dogs couldn’t
Jan 12th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
I am 44 and I heard the sound perfectly, along with my children! Ha!
Jan 13th, 2009 at 2:56 am
I am 48 and I heard it. I turned it up all the way and I heard it. When I asked my 18 year old he said he heard it in the other room and couldn’t figured out what it was it was hurting his ears, but when I heard it, it wasn’t that loud and did not hurt my ears. I guess in part it is true, I could still hear it but my teens ears are much more sensitive.
Jan 13th, 2009 at 3:27 am
I’m 15 and my sisters 13 and we can both hear it but my mom who is 40 said she could not
Jan 14th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
I’m 18, I can hear it. My 13 year old brother can hear it. My 39 year old mother cannot. Ugh, I hate that sound!!! ;-; My poor little ears…
On a side note, my brother doesn’t hear it when he turns on the TV, but I do… I yelled at him for it…
Jan 15th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Someone played this in my spanish class last year, and all of the students were about ready to take his phone from him before he stopped. Our teacher didn’t hear anything though. She was about 65.
I played this with my dog in the room, and she started scratching at the door to be let out. She was reluctant to come back in ten minutes later, but it was too cold to stay out.
I agree with the people who say it sounds like the TV when it’s on but nothing’s playing. That sound has always driven me crazy, and my friends think I’m nuts for going around and turning their TVs off all the time.
Jan 16th, 2009 at 1:41 am
Heeey, I know this sound! Its the sound that is sometimes on staticy TVs, and at the static part at the end of movies!!! I would always complain about it, but my dad wouldn’t hear a thing!!!
Jan 16th, 2009 at 1:48 am
this sound hurt my ears but my parents couldn’t hear a thing! I’m 11 and the youngest person in my house that i played it for was 30 and she couldn’t hear it
Jan 17th, 2009 at 1:16 am
Can someone tell me the exact frequency?
I’d say between 15KHz and 16KHz. I can hear it clearly and if this would be on a a loud volume, it would be fking PAINful.
Congrats on all who can still hear this, your ears are still working well!
Jan 17th, 2009 at 5:31 am
im 15 heard it well…… so did my cat
Jan 17th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
I am 24 years old an I can hear it as well. It is rather ear piercing. >.<
Jan 17th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
I’m 45 & I heard a shrill, high-pitched tone similar to the sound a TV makes when first turned on.
Jan 18th, 2009 at 2:59 am
The first time I played it my to boxers jumped off of the couch and went a little nuts. I heard nothing. I played it again and, leaned into the speakers and barely heard a high pitched sound. I am 49.
Jan 18th, 2009 at 4:42 am
27 year old male here. Yup i can here it. Definitely makes an “electronic” sort of noise; really annoying. Had to turn the volume up a bit to hear it though. Figures, i work around military jet engines for a living. Means my hearing ain’t that bad after all
Jan 19th, 2009 at 4:26 am
I’m only about 14, and I heard it perfectly…It really annoyed my cat though. I think it’s completely awesome. and I’ve actually heard it on my TV before, like when I leave the TV on but nothing’s playing. My parents are in their 50’s so they never hear it.
Jan 19th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Oww headache! I’m 13, btw. My dad was here, and I was wincing and stuff, and he was just like o.o What’s wrong?” That’s weird. And annoying. Lol.
Jan 19th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
I am 25 yeasr old i a was able to hear the sound, it is very low pitch irritanging sound.
Jan 21st, 2009 at 9:45 pm

Jan 21st, 2009 at 10:56 pm
i can hear it! for the guys who cant: its just a high pitcked beeping nosie! it hurts to me! i did it to my dog, and she ran away! LOL
Jan 22nd, 2009 at 12:00 am
My wife, 30 could hear it, but she has high frequency hearing. I could hear it only when it was turned up real loud, then it just sounded like when my ears buzz.
Jan 22nd, 2009 at 12:02 am
I could hear it perfectly fine. I am 13. I called my dog, Brittany, a 7+ year old golden retriever over, and she heard it. She didn’t seem to mind it overly much, but kept shaking her head as though a fly had gone into her ear.
Jan 27th, 2009 at 7:59 pm
holy cwap thats loud and!!! if u record it 2 ur fone it doesnt play try it!
Jan 29th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
I’m 43 and I can hear it!
Jan 30th, 2009 at 1:56 am
OMG THAT NOISE IS BUGGING me! im 14, and i can hear that sound PERFECTLY. i hear that sound once in a while but i dont know what its from…r u guys going 2 figure out how it happens?
Jan 30th, 2009 at 3:13 pm

That was crazy…. my friend told me about this both me(13) and my brother(11) could hear it. I we tested it on one of our dogs… she didn’t really do much… she just looked around to see where the sound was coming from… but then again she is really really retarded…..

My 43 Year old father could not hear anything. My teenager brother and i wanted to scream (it really is annoying). And my dog kept tilting his head. That is very amazing. I beleive it to be as you grow older You pick up less sounds. Although, I’m curious on how you found this out. :/
Awesome job!

My son played this for me and I heard nothing when he said he heard something. I am 55 years old. Later when he had left the room I tried again and I heard nothing until I had turned the volume up to full blast.
Mar 5th, 2009 at 3:49 am
I am 55 and I can hear it loud and clear. And I have listened to loud rock’n roll for 45 years. No problem at all.
Mar 5th, 2009 at 5:06 am
I just watched the Outer limits yesterday and they were talking about this radio signal from outer space that only people under 30 could hear and it transformed them into a fourth density being. what are the odds?
“It is said that music is a universal bridge crossing the barriers of culture, age, and language perhaps eventually we will learn that it spans those of time and space.”
Mar 9th, 2009 at 2:34 pm

Mar 19th, 2009 at 12:50 am
I’m 46 and heard nothing but I forgot and left it on loop and my 38 y/o husband came into the room asking me why I was trying to make his brain explode. Hee Hee, can I turn this into his ringtone? The dog scowled at me and my cat is probly going to kill me later for it!
Mar 19th, 2009 at 5:23 am
I am 19 and my dad is 52, I played it for him and he couldn’t hear it, though it was driving me crazy. It didn’t seem to bug my dog but its the same sound the TV makes when we first turn it on and that doesn’t seem to bother her either.

Mar 21st, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I am 58 with a 66 year old husbaand and 2 dogs. The dogs didn’t seem to notice anything. I could hear something, but I think it was the speaker noise, not your sound. My husband did not mention any thing, so I don’t think he heard anything either. I had my speakers all the way up.

Apr 2nd, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Apr 2nd, 2009 at 7:55 pm
I’m 40 and I could hear it, but I did turn the speakers up louder. I “felt” it in my head before I could actually recognize I was hearing it, if that makes any sense.
Apr 5th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I am 42 and couldn’t hear a thing. My kids 10 and 13 went nuts though and said it hurt their ears. They ware begging me to turn it off.
Apr 7th, 2009 at 2:30 am
I’m 56, I had to listen several times before I could identify it. My wife, 51, could not hear it but our 21 year old had a fit and said it hurt his ears. OUr dog, like many others, was did not respond at all. Interestingly, I could hear it better when the volume was low t medium and not at all when it was high.

Apr 13th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
It’s nice to know that in spite of the ten or so years I spent with my face pressed up against the blaring speakers of a Fender Twin, I can still hear this sound.
Apr 14th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
I am 15 and I heard it. It hurts my ears. My dog who is 1 didn’t go crazy when she heard it. I think she didn’t even hear it.
Apr 15th, 2009 at 2:00 am
I’m 18 it was quite annoying and hurt my ears, i can still hear it ringing in my head. My puppy also heard it nearby and began to cry as she looked uncomfortable.
Apr 15th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Hi, I am 7 year old transgendered panda bear and I cannot hear anything. I have the volume turned up, does anyone think that this is a problem? Should I be hearing something?
Apr 19th, 2009 at 12:04 am
Im 36 and i can Hear it My ears hurt so annoying, my wife is 32 and she can’t hear a thing, my pups are 4 months old and didnt even bother..
Apr 19th, 2009 at 12:50 am
I am 46 and can hear it perfectly, although I wish I couldn’t because it really hurts my ears. My boyfriend is 54, can’t hear a thing, and thinks I am making it up.
Apr 19th, 2009 at 2:05 am
I’m 24 years old and can’t hear a thing, though my roommate who’s roughly the same age cringes when she hears it. But then, I’ve suspected for a while that I have some hearing range loss. This pretty much confirms it, not only to me but to friends who didn’t entirely believe me before.
Apr 19th, 2009 at 9:07 pm
I asked my mom if she could here this and she couldnt hear anything. I called my dog into the room and he ran out of the room because he didn’t like the noise. I am 13 years old and so is my friend and we hated the sound.
Apr 23rd, 2009 at 8:17 pm

Apr 25th, 2009 at 1:30 am

I’m 15 and can hear it. It is so annoying!
my step-dad who is 43 and mom who is 37 can’t hear it.
Apr 25th, 2009 at 3:54 am
Yeah, unfortunately I can hear it. Its a loud, high pitched ring with quick clicks in it. I’m almost 33, and I know I don’t have the best hearing. So dunno what to say. There is a sound. For those who don’t hear it, maybe its something with your computer….or maybe you are one of the fortunate, lucky few.
Now, if you will excuse me…screwing around with this has given me a headache.
Apr 25th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
i heard it. 14 don’t think ill ever play it again
Apr 25th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
I’m 21, it’s not very loud for me, but I can still ear it enough to make it really uncomfortable! Like nails on a chalkboard or scraping a fork on a non plastic plate almost. We used to have this sound machine that sent out high pitched noises that was supposed to keep insects and rodents away. All it sounded like was air blowing out. Our cats went absolutly nuts though! So we couldn’t keep using it.
Apr 25th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
I turned it all the way up on my speaker. It never really changes in volume. Maybe i’m not hearing the right thing… It’s really quiet but uncomfortable for my 21 year old ears.
Apr 26th, 2009 at 2:52 am
I am 40 and I heard it! The dog, well he is still sleeping!
Apr 26th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
My husband and I are both 60. We both heard the sound perfectly well. It was loud and high pitched.
Apr 26th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Hi,I am Geoffrey Campbell, 53 years old, I played it, and it is extremely uncomfortable, a very distinctive high pitch, and I am very surprised that I can hear it, and hear it very well when I play it. From Scranton PA.
Apr 26th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
I’m 16 and I can hear it. My brother-in-law (23) and my sister (21) can hear it too. But my mom cannot. Lol.
Apr 27th, 2009 at 7:18 pm
i am 54 and I heard it perfectly. I heard a very high pitch, but also a lower, groaning kind of sound.
Apr 28th, 2009 at 4:05 am
I’m 33 and I didn’t hear it the first time I played it. Maybe because the TV was on (but muted) and I wasn’t really listening. lol
But, when I took my laptop outside to see my dog’s reaction to it, I could hear it. :p
By the way, my dog just tilted his head to the side and stared at the screen. He didn’t really care. He just wanted me to pay attention to him. lol
Apr 29th, 2009 at 5:30 pm
im 18.i can hear it just fine. i saved the sound to my computer n transfered it to my phone.it makes a good ringtone for in school.lol.drives everyone in the class crazy but they cant prove it to the teachers because there all older. so far none of my teachers could hear it n i’ve had about 15 diff teachers now.

I am 17, and could hear it perfectly. I turned it up all the way for my mom and her friend, both age 38, and they could not hear it. :p
May 11th, 2009 at 11:43 am
I’m 43 and I heard it. It wasn’t outrageously annoying. It sounded like my wife’s curling iron when she plugs it in, or an old computer monitor I had.
I’d sorta attributed that sort of high-pitched keening noise to faulty electrical circuits. Now I know why I’ve been hearing it so often lately…kids using it as a cell-phone ring tone.
You’ve given me an idea! Around my office it’s becoming common for parents of young, and very young children to bring their kids around for the “watch my kid drool”-show. I’ll just set this little noise up as a way of drivin’ them away.
May 11th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
I am 22 and could not hear it but it could be due to my cold. My husband who is 23 can hear it and so can his 25 year old friend. My cats reacted to it so I assume they heard it as well. I will try again when I am not sick to see if I can hear it
May 13th, 2009 at 12:32 am

Hi I could hear it, I’m 59, My bulldog could hear it too.
Jun 16th, 2009 at 6:02 am
I am 30 and while I have probably brutalized my ears with too much rock (it’s true) I can still hear it. While it’s not *loud* it is a HORRIBLE piercing sound that hurts my head. However, I think that may have to do with just being Me. I have Fibromyalgia and chronic migraines and it seems many smells and sounds set my head off that others can’t smell or hear. (My mom says they should use me instead of a dog for the police.)
My little brother, 21, can hear it fine, and also says it’s annoying. My dad doesn’t even believe us. He thinks it’s a joke. (But he listens to the TV so loud that’s no surprise.) He is 56. My mom, 55, also heard nothing.
Jun 21st, 2009 at 5:57 pm
