NFA Rice sold out? These are the words you will hear in the mouth of the greedy rice wholesalers in the Philippines. We all know that it’s really common in the Philippines that if there’s an upcoming shortage of commodities, the greedy bastards will hide their stocks and wait until the price of their ‘hidden rice’ goes up. NFA Rice re milling? Have you heard about this? Re-milling is when two types of rice were mix up. I’m sure, there are hundreds of hungry and greedy rice distributors and millers who are doing it, mixing up NFA rice to an expensive one like milagrosa or jasmine rice, and then selling it in the price of a jasmine.

I still remember the story of my friend when he was still working at NFA, he used to sell NFa rice using the rolling store ‘Erap Para sa Mahirap’. He told me that supposed to be the NFA rice will be sold out only to the poor and needy, and his stupid supervisors only sell 1/4 of the rice that they are suppose to be selling in every day. Guess what where they are selling and stocking the other 3/4! To the greedy wholesalers!!! To the Padrinos! They started selling NFA rice at 8AM to 12PM which is supposed to be up to until 4PM at least, but instead they only sell rice until 12PM and sell the whole stock to a bastard rice dealer.

One of the hidden truth he exposed in which shocked me is the way his manager distribute the NFA rice. My friend told me that only 20 sacks of rice is allowed per retailer only, but he noticed that almost every truck that enter their NFA warehouse you could see that up to 200 sacks was loaded on each truck. Weird Here’s the trick, a big time rice dealer can borrow a small time retailer’s NFA passbook, which will let a certain retailer to buy 20 sacks of NFA rice from the NFA warehouse. For example, 1 big time retailer will borrow up to at least 50 pcs of NFA small time rice retailer passbooks which will allow him to buy up to 1,000 sacks of NFA rice. Good idea huh. Well of course, the stupid NFA employee will let the big timers to buy the NFA rice because the big time retailer has a good reason. He’s just giving the small time retailers a big favor by buying the rice for them because they don’t have a good transportation. Do you really think a big time greedy rice retailer is giving them a good favor? Crap! I bet these greedy bastards are paying small time retailers to let them borrow their NFA passbooks.

I’ll stop here by now because I’m already pissed off! Hope our rice shortage will soon be over.
