Another Dead Satellite That Threatens the Earth

While I was reading the story regarding an unused US spy satellite that may fall and threatens Earth. According to a report, the said Spy Satellite has lost power and could hit the Earth in late February or March. That’s freaking scary, imagine if that piece of crap would hit your roof! OMG! Hopefully they could shut it down before it starts to a re-entry into the Atmosphere. According to a spokesperson, such an uncontrolled re-entry could risk exposure of U.S. secrets. Spy satellites typically are disposed of through a controlled re-entry into the ocean so that no one else can access the spacecraft, he said.

The largest uncontrolled re-entry by a NASA spacecraft was Skylab, the 78-ton abandoned space station that fell from orbit in 1979. Its debris dropped harmlessly into the Indian Ocean and across a remote section of western Australia.
