Home Information Pack
Do you lived in the UK? Do you have plans of buying a new home or selling your old one? Do you know anything about the Home Information Pack? In the UK, the Home Information Pack or HIPs was introduced last June 2007 and starting August, every home put on the market with four or more bedrooms will need a Home Information Pack, which includes a home energy efficiency rating. The government has recently amended the policy to allow sellers to start marketing and then obtain a Hip, rather than having to have a HIP in place before putting the property up for sale. You can learn more about this new law over this website - easyhomeinformationpacks.org.uk.

I still don’t agree with this. No that I’m planning to sell my house but this is just an extra burden to the homeowner. In any case, the buyer would still need to get a homebuyer’s survey.
On the other hand, if i decide to buy my second home (would love to), it would be nice to have an idea of what the house structure is like through this HIP’s before committing myself to purchasing it STCC. Saves me time, money and effort.
