If you think having an expensive car is more likely prone to carnapping, I guess you’re wrong. Based on the U.S. National Insurance Crime Bureau compilation the top 10 vehicles most frequently reported stolen in the U.S. in 2005 were the following:

1. 1991 Honda Accord
2. 1995 Honda Civic
3. 1989 Toyota Camry
4. 1994 Dodge Caravan
5. 1994 Nissan Sentra
6. 1997 Ford F150 Series
7. 1990 Acura Integra
8. 1986 Toyota Pickup
9. 1993 Saturn SL
10. 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup

Here in the Philippines, the top 3 reported stolen cars were 1) Toyota 2) Mitsubishi and 3) Honda. These cars are usually stolen because the spare parts are easier to sell out. Today, carnapping in the Philippines is more rampant than before. According to some reports, this carnapping syndicates were headed by some top government officials and big time businessmen.
