Philippines Submarine Fiber Break
Last night a continuous earthquake hit Taiwan and the Philippines. A magnitude 7.1 and 7.0 earthquake hit Taiwan and the Philippines simultaneously. Internet and telephone connections were damaged by the earthquake, a “fiber break” in the major submarine cables linking the Philippines to the international network caused a nationwide disruption in Internet and telephone services, local telecommunications. Philippine Long Distance Company is the major internet provider here in the Philippines, they reported that they are maximizing the use of available international linkages and finding alternative routes to hasten restoration of normal service. That’s a very good news for all of us bloggers here in RP.

APCN1, APCN2, EAC, and C2C were affected in the earthquake.
