MySpace Takes On YouTube. MySpace already pushes out more videoclips per month than anyone else on the Web. Media measurement shop ComScore’s most recent data say MySpace pushed out 1.46 billion video streams in the U.S. in July, compared with 812 million streams at Yahoo! and 649 million at YouTube. MySpace’s tool-building initiative is already under way. Besides a video player and an internal messaging platform, a Fox Interactive Media Labs-affiliated site called TheSpringBox aims to create a “widget” platform where MySpace users can download a variety of tools.

“We will be adding new widgets as fast as we can make them and offering you more of the world of Fox content.”
