American Idols rocks the Billboard

The singles from American Idol’s Season 5’s finalists are holding strong. Taylor Hicks’s single “Do I Make You Proud?” is #3 in single sales and Katharine McPhee’s “Over the Rainbow” is #4. The rest of the Top 12 Idols have something to cheer about as well, with the compilation “Encores” CD reaching #17.

Country fans are still showing their love for Carrie Underwood’s work. Her single “Before She Cheats” is at #15 in the Country realm, with the entire CD, “Some Hearts”, coming it an impressive #4.

The success of the earlier seasons’ Idols continues to impress. Ruben Studdard, winner of Season Two, has a new CD out and his single “Change Me” has hit the R & B/Hip Hop charts this week at #49. Meanwhile, Season One winner, Kelly Clarkson, has established herself as one of the most talented pop singers today. Her single “Because of You” comes in at a remarkable #6. Via A.I.
