Support Maureen Marcelo - Philippine Idol
Maureen Marcelo (Samantha Brown) was a Grand Finalist in the prestigious singing competition “Star for a Night (2002)”. Maureen Marcelo is my kababayan here in Lucena City. I’m really disappointed when she was not titled as the Grand winner for “Star for a Night”. If that contest was decided by judges and not by text votes, I doubt Sarah Geronimo coud stand a chance by that time.
Ryan Cayabyab quoted Maureen Marcelo in her performance for the Top 4 finalists. He said.
Sa performance mo, I do not understand why you are not yet an international recording artist.
Ryan Cayabyab even stood up just to bring his message to the televiewers and to all the people supporting Philippine idol to vote for her. He even stated. (not the exact phrase)
“With the filipino culture and thinking I doubt they’re going to vote for you”

that is just so true! I am really really surprised to understand that there are a lot of maureen fanatics here! I was guilty when the results came out last elimination because i didn’t vote for maureen thinking that other texters would do it for me…i really think that she’s the most deserving contestant to be a philippine idol. i like watching her on stage. her voice is extremely soulful…my heart would pound very fast when she sings… hey, may i just ask, do u know any yahoogroup dedicated to her? i wish to join if there is…thanks for campaigning for maureen…

the result for phil idol was so disappointing. di pa dapat naalis si reymond. my gosh. ang galing nya. in fairness, until the end, may dating siya. grabe response ng mga tao. standing ovation. too bad naka walang magaw ang mga judges.

You should not compare the Sarah Geronimo with Mau Marcelo because they are very different in many ways. If you are doubting Sarah’s ability to win in the Star for A Night contest, well i think you are very very wrong because i was there during the Grand Finals of SFAN and i was very very impressed when Sarah sang “To Love You More” at the top of her voice. All i can say was that she’s really amazing that night, and no one, even the judges, could’ve given the title as Grand Champion to other Finalists except Sarah. Even if the contest was held today, people will still choose Sarah not only because of her captivating voice but she has this magnetic appeal to audience that made her to be 6x platinum awardee during the year 2003.
Yeah I got your point, her face will answer you…and that’s always the big deal for every Filipino…

Maureen Marcelo have already competed and won a lot of singing competitions and she has gathered almost 200 trophies. I could say that here in the Philippines it is really hard to please the audiences, unless you have talent+beauty. If you lack one of those, then you’ll have 50/50 chance to be accepted in the entertainment industry, not unless you want to become one of those artist, actors and singers that was being dragged and made fun of by big stars in front of the camera, - remember Pokwang? Then i guess you know what i’m saying here. Many criticized Maureen Marcelo not because she has a bad voice, but because she’s not that pretty, I was glad the insult and criticism can not hinder her fans to vote.
