You Are the One transforms Toni into Sally Malasmas, a Care Officer at the National Statistics Office. She’s smart and is a genuinely kind person who always has a hand to help other people. Her parents and only sister have all migrated to the United States to embrace the ‘American Dream’. But for Sally, the Philippines is where she wants to be. She gets into a predicament over it though when she learns of her mother’s illness. It’s time for her to apply for a visa and of all the consuls at the US Embassy, she lands in front of “Mr. Insensitiveâ€, Will Derby.
Sam is Will Derby, a dashing vice-consul from the United States Embassy in Manila. He grew up in a pre-dominantly white North Dakota, where very few Filipinos live. But Will is not totally an American — he’s a Filipino adopted by an old American couple. He would have avoided being posted in the Philippines, a place he doesn’t like very much, if he could. But a promise to his mother to search for his real parents made him accept it. Will has always lived a life of indifference and loneliness that is until he crosses paths with Sally.

Hay!!! i never got this interest for tagalog movies, i find them baduy!!! But since i like TONI and SAM narin ‘coz of this sweet gurl TONI, Hay!!!! grabe… kakakilig sila… never thought, i’d react this way… ahihihi…. Promise ang ganda… Good chemistry!!! ang panget naman eh! ang korny korny! napakabaduy! sayang sa pera, mas maganda pang manood na lang ng pirated na cd para tipid kasi di naman worthwhile yung movie. mas gusto ko si toni nung nasa channel 7 pa siya kasi ngayon mukha na siyang trying hard eh. di naman pogi si Sam, di pa nagpapalit ng brief, kadiri, may putok pa!

wow… so cool guys. i loved them both when they’re together. i bought dvd’s, cd’s of them. sad to say, may anne and paul na cla… it broke my heart coz i’m an avid fan really. i wish they’ll be 2gthr again like u r d 1. star cinema shud make another movie with sam and toni again, a movie lke U R D 1. i love direct cathy molina. i hope she knows that she did a spectacular movie. tnx
